Architecture models by Peter Zumthor

Architect Peter Zumthor is well known for his hands-on approach to materials. Testing architecture three dimensionally is important to his practice when developing  new schemes, and this exhibit of large scaled models demonstrates a very thorough practice of testing even the smallest details: how materials work together; how they look when the sun shines on them; how a chair might look in relation to the colour of the walls etc. These pictures are from an exhibition that Peter Zumthor put up in  an old post office in Austria.
