Beautiful houses: Incredible renovation of a Spanish stone house

This house located in the Spanish valleys in the west of the country is something quite special. The architecture in the area is characterized by narrow facades facing the streets. Behind these facades the rooms are deep and even narrower, and the living area is spread over several floors. This project, by GEA architects, is an example on how a house with poorly preserved wooden floors, low ceilings, little light penetration and a bad room planning, can be turned into a house where the light is flowing in from the ceiling into double height spaces, and where partition of rooms has been avoided where possible creating a sense of openness and flow.
